STARTER
Listen and enjoy.

ACTION 1
Listen and read the karaoke.
How do you react
to the tune of this song?
Did you recognize it?

"Aul Lang Syne" is a traditional song that British people sing at midnight on December 31; but most people don't know that it is a Scottish poem written in 1788 by Robert Burns and later set to the music of a folk song.

The song's (Scots) title may be translated from old Scottish dialect into English literally as "old long since", or more idiomatically, "long long ago" or "days gone by".

Hi Everybody, Dear Prof B,
This short comment just to tell you that last year I've seen two excellent films, one mentioned here, "Parasite", and the second one was "Les Miserables". I strongly recommend them,
Yours sincerely,
Yann V (4eme3)

Hello, everyone!
This is a Test message.
Waiting for your messages: reactions, favs and crushes!

Miss B.

Anonyme a dit…

Hi everybody!
In this comment i'll talk to you about a book I read for the first time a year ago and that I read again, and again, and again until this first time. The title is "The fault in our stars" by John Green (the french title is "Nos étoiles contraires"). It's the story of two teenagers: Hazel and Augustus. Hazel is 16 and Augustus is 17. Hazel has a lung cancer and Augustus had an osteosarcoma. So it's their story and it's very touching and so true! You must read this book! You can watch the movie as well with Shailene Woodley as Hazel and Ansel Elgort as Augustus, but I think that the book is so much better!
Have a great week-end!
Noémie LP (4ème3)
PS: if someone finds the original version of the book (in english) could he please lend it to me? Thanks!

missb a dit…

Hello Yann,

Thanks for sharing!

I have heard a lot about the first feature film "Les Misérables" by the French-Malian director Ladj Ly who is well-known for his social and civic commitments. First and foremost, he has always loved to make videos. His passion was born in Mali. He started his first video clips for the French-Malian rapper Oxo Puccino or his first documentaries like "365 Days in Clichy-Montfermeil" that he filmed after the 2005 suburbian riots. He has also filmed "Cop Watchs" during violent arrests. He has himself been arrested several times and put into prison; but he overcame these hardships.

"Les Misérables" has already won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Festival and the European Film Awards. It is even Oscar-nominated in the International category!

Sincerely yours

Miss B

Anonyme a dit…

Hi every one !

I'm gonna talk about a movie I've seen recently. It's called "Little Women", "les quatre filles du docteur March" in french.
I thought it was a really good movie and I was happy because Ema Watson and Timothée Chalamet played in it.
I think in personality I ressemble Amy the most but also Beth! I also kind of forgot the story before seing the movie and I was happy to rediscover the story. It's a really cute story and really interesting story! Over all I really liked the movie! (OvO)

bye bye!

Hello dear Noémie,

Thanks so much for sharing your book crush!

I didn't know about this last adolescent literary craze.
So I took the opportunity to make some researches and was happy to discover this gripping story between Hazel and Gus.

I invite you and your classmates to find out the result of these researches in the "Movie Section"!

Sincerely yours

Hello dear Daphné,

Thank you for sharing your Movie review and impressions about the film I recommended!

The actors and actresses are indeed great but,as fas as this "remake" is concerned, I prefer the original version of 1994. Surely a question of taste!

Sincerely yours

Miss B

Hi Yann, Hi Miss B;
Like Yann, I too watched the film "Parasite". I was the one who invited him to watch it with me. This film is really my favorite of 2019 because it gives very beautiful morals on the life in society leaning on the life of wealthy people and people of modest background. This film makes us think because it is both funny at the beginning but makes us understand its philosophy towards the end. I don't know if the film is in French version because I saw it at the cinema in Chinese with French subtitles.

I really recommend this film.

Malik.

Hi Malik,

Thanks so much for participating in our "open-hearted" cultural forum.

Indeed, this film is quite gripping in its message to society... and the Humans that we are.
It says something of how society is organized, how society is sick of its wealthy and poor ones, how it conveys want and envy. We may wonder "Who is guilty?", "What is moral or not?", "What is fair or unfair?". And more personally we may wonder if you understand what is really at stake: Moral? (in)Justice? Determinism, Doom or just Life?

These questions make me think at the Shakespearian questioning:
"To Be or Not to Be. That is the question!"
(Hamlet, Act 3, Scene 1)

Or would it be: "To Do or Not to Do?"

Let us all think about it by reading the "Movie Section" again in which I will soon insert the trailer, the movie poster, some critics and data about the brilliant South-Korean director Bong Joon Ho.

Sincerely yours

Miss B

Hello Miss B, hello everyone!
I had already heard a lot about "The fault in our stars" as much for the book as for the film and friends of mine had advised me. I wanted to read the book but after a while I forgot it so thank you for reminding me! In any case, the two stories seem superb! Thank you!

Hello Miss B,
I too saw the film Parasite like my brother Malik in 4th 3, this film is a masterpiece. It shows Korean cinema in all its splendor. It's a mixture of genre, thriller, suspense, comedy, everything is there.I really enjoyed this film which I watched with my friends.

Hello Miss B, hello everyone !
I read "The fault in our stars" and I also saw the film. Both were truly magnificent ! I loved it. Today, i would like to tell you about a film I saw recently with Noémie. This movie is called "Shutter island". It's a thriller and a drama. It speaks about a Marshall who comes to an island to find a woman who has escaped from his psychiatric hospital. The Marshall is embodied by Leonardo DiCaprio. He arrives on the island but a storm breaks out and he finds himself stuck with his teammates, the doctors and the patients in the psychiatric hospital, on the island...It's really a great movie, and the end is unpredictable ! I highly recommend it, but watch out for sensitive souls ! Some images could shock them...

Hi everyone !
an other comment from me? Yes an other comment from me!

I want to talk about a movie I've seen recently it's called "Oko et les fantômes".
It's the story of a little girl who almost died in a car accident but unfortunately her parents did not survive.
So she started to live at her grandma's hotel with her. She start's to see a ghost who once was a friend of her grandma.
He ask her to help her grandma at the hotel so she did. Then an other ghost appears a girl this time she is the big sister of someone at her school but Oko does not like her very much !
The movie has an interesting storie so I'm gonna spoil it all!
Over all it's a cute storie but of course I cried watching it at the parts were here parents died. It's not a sad movie don't worry!
so yah I really liked it !

bye!

Good evening dear Daphné,

Thanks again for your contribution. Quite attractive and cheerful!
I had a look at "Okko and the Ghosts"'s trailer. It looks like a Manga animation. Nice indeed.
I will add your contribution to the "Movie Section" soon.
